For over 20 years, the Primary Stages Free Student Matinee Program has introduced vibrant new American plays to students from across the five boroughs, many of whom are coming to the theater for the first time. New York City is an epicenter of creativity and innovation that inspires artists and dreamers of all ages, especially students. The Free Student Matinee Program connects young people to stories that align with their own experiences, amplifies school curriculum, and encourages an understanding of people and world views that are different from the students’ own.
