Imagine lowering 180 pre-cast beams, each the size of a school bus 🚌, 31 meters underground! Well, that's just one of the engineering feats our CPB Contractors teams achieved to complete the construction of Cross River Rail’s Albert Street Station.
Let’s take a closer look at this milestone:
🔶 Mezzanine level: Built by lowering 180 pre-cast beams, each 19 meters long and 70 tonnes, down a 31-meter-long access shaft.
🔶 Platform level: Constructed from more than 365 precast culverts, each weighing 6.5 tonnes, to create a 220-meter platform 31 meters below ground level.
