A brief film of the Badia Palace in the Casbah of Marrakech, Morocco. This palace was commissioned by Sultan Sulay Ahmad Mansour in the mid-16th century. Sulay Ahmad Mansour was the Sultan who commissioned an army of renegade Christians in Spain, led by the eunuch Jawdar, to destroy the Songhay Dynasty of the Askiyas. The renowned black Songhay Timbuktu scholar Ahmad Baba was brought here in chains. Sulay Ahmad Mansour claimed that he had the right to attack the Songhay Dynasty because he was a noble blood descendant of the Prophet Muhammad.
