This transition underscores a commitment to sustainability and cost-efficiency, with the new fleet comprising Tesla Model Y and Model 3S, chosen for their advanced technology, safety features, and lower operational costs.

The Teslas have proven to be a beneficial choice, offering zero emissions and significantly reducing maintenance costs. In fact, the administration fleet experienced no maintenance issues during its first year of operation. The vehicles also provide substantial savings on energy compared to traditional gas-powered cars.

Officers reported feeling safer during high-speed pursuits and in adverse weather conditions, such as rain, thanks to the Teslas' low centre of gravity and advanced braking systems. The Model Y can quickly extend its range by approximately 200 miles with just 15 minutes of charging, ensuring minimal downtime and making it ideal for extended use.
