I realized this replica on the basement of Barlow's article "A curious elctro-magnetic experiment", published in "The Philisophical Magazine and Journal" issue 59 in 1822. I only used material on the roots of Barlow's data. Exception: Instead of mercury I used Galinstan (Geratherm Medical AG) for contact. The cling film is to protect the wood from spatter and sparks.
