Buying your first backpack can be a daunting endeavor that can easily overwhelm new thru-hikers. Luckily, the Osprey Exos/Eja is the complete package for beginner backpackers! At 38/48/58L sizes, $200, and ~40oz, this backpack will hold all your gear (and then some) comfortably for miles (& miles & miles & miles...). Osprey Exos/Eja [ Ссылка ]
Just a few reminders:
Before purchasing your backpack, it's a good idea to have your other Big 3 items first (tent & sleep system). As they are your two biggest/heaviest items, you need to make sure you purchase a backpack big enough to fit your other gear. You also don't want to purchase something too big. As the saying goes... "If you have the space, you will end up using it." I own the 48L, but honestly the 38L would have been better.
Also, this pack is made of nylon, which is not waterproof. You'll need a pack liner and possibly a pack cover. I started the trail with only a pack liner, which kept my gear inside dry. However, the pack took on a few pounds of water weight that I had to carry... I ended up getting a pack cover after 800 miles. If you're hiking the Appalachian Trail, I would recommend both. If you're hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, you'll be fine with just a pack liner.
Happy Trails!
