(22 Dec 2017) Twenty-three international artists from countries including Latvia, Russia, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand are taking visitors on a trip around the world at an ice festival near Berlin.
From the German capital to New York, from Tokyo to Havana, the artists carved ice sculptures of 12 locations worldwide, and their iconic landmarks.
Within three weeks, the artists carved the complex sculptures with knives, files and spatulas - as well as power saws and irons.
About 270 tons of ice was utilised.
During the festival, there is a constant temperature of minus seven degrees Celsius (19.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in the exhibition hall.
The festival opened on Friday and can be visited until October 31, 2018.
