Why You Should Always Get Trackouts
If you have been following We Got Beats for a minute you will know how much we love Tunecore.com. It’s important that in the digital age you are getting the download and streaming revenues offered by sites like this.
Now if you are serious about your career and your music you know that the mix and master has to be on point. On top of that, depending on the lyrics you write to the beat you may need to add additional production like dropping out the snare here, filter an element in the beat, etc. You will not be able to do this with a basic lease or non exclusive license!
"But The Mix Of The Beat Is Already Dope..."
Maybe so, but remember this. Your vocal is an instrument. When producers mix their beats they mix only the instruments available at the time. Once you add your vocals the mix needs to be tailored to your vocal. Otherwise it just sounds like your vocal is just sitting on top of the beat instead of the right blend that professional records have.
This will affect the way your fans perceive your music. Is this rapper serious about his/her craft? Do they care about their fans enough to give them the best quality music they can?
They will be able to tell based on the mix. We as artists must give our listeners and fans the best listening experience possible.
"But Why Get Stems, Can't I Just Get An Engineer To Mix The 2-Track Beat With My Vocals?"
Talk to any Music Engineer out there and they will tell you the exact same thing. If you want the best possible mix and master a 2-Track MP3 or Wav with your vocal is not going to cut it. Actually I’ve seen plenty of engineers (including myself) turn down business if you don’t have the stems. Thats how important trackouts are!
