Oyster reefs are great places to fish. In addition to filtering the surrounding water, reefs provide valuable habitat for benthic creatures such as worms, shrimp, and crabs that attract small fish like spot, croaker, and white perch. Those smaller fish lure in bigger predators including striped bass and bluefish.
Join CBF’s Bart Jaeger out on the water as he explains how to identify underwater oyster reefs on charts and fish finders. We'll also cover what type of bait and rigs to use while fishing over reefs.
In fact, Bart is such an expert at fishing over oyster reefs that he caught a spot while we were filming this video!
