Healthy and weight loss Rasam, #shorts, #SpiceAdventure
INGREDIENTS AND PROCESS:
Horse gram 1 cup
Water 7 cups
Salt 1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
Green chili 1 or 2
Few curry leaves
Large Onion 1
Red chili powder 1 tsp.
Salt 1 tsp. or as per taste
Cloves 6- 8
Cinnamon 1 stick small
Coriander powder 1 tsp.
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp.
Tamarind 75 grams
Coriander leaves
Ghee 3 tbsp.
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp.
Chana dal 1/2 tsp.
Cumin seeds 1 tsp.
Red chilies 5-6
Few curry leaves
PROCESS:
STEP 1
....wash horse gram and add water and salt
.....pressure cook horse gram for 25 -30 minutes on medium heat
.... Soak tamarind in a cup of water
.....Cut onions to large dices
.... Cut green chillies to small dices
STEP 2
....Strain and transfer horse gram water to any medium pan
....Next grind cooked horse gram to paste
....Add to horse gram water and mix well
...Next add turmeric powder, salt, green chillis, onions , red chilli powder, cloves, cinnamon, tamarind and curry leaves
....Add chopped coriander leaves
....Boil on medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes
.....Turn off heat
STEP 3
.... Heat a small pan on medium hat
.... Add ghee
.....Once ghee is hot enough add tempering spices and curry leaves
.... Now add to boiled horse gram Rasam
......Serve with rice or as a soup
