After going through all of the different planets in Milky Way Wishes, and picking up their stars, Kirby uses the seven stars to summon the great clock machine known as Nova.

He will grant Kirby one wish. However, before Kirby gets to speak, which he hardly ever does, anyway, Marx knocks him out of the way and wishes that he could take over Dream Land. This gives him colorful-yet-demonic wings and incredible power.

It was all according to his plan. He tricked Kirby into summoning Nova, so he would have to go through all of that work himself so he can become the new rule of Dream Land.

With his new powers, the evil Marx flies straight towards planet Pop Star, with Nova going there as well. Kirby is left to drift helplessly in space until the seven stars he gather transform into a Starship.

At the very least, Nova's approach towards Pop Star did stop the Sun & Moon there from fighting, and now they've teamed up on Nova to hold him back.

What Kirby has to do is use his new Starship to reach the Heart of Nova to stop him in his tracks. First, you must go through a Gradius-like course where you shoot at enemies while dodging their bullets and walls, floors, & ceilings to crash into.

The second part is a boss battle that takes place around Nova's heart. You have to shoot and destroy the moving parts that are located in different parts of each pillar. Blowing all of these pillars up defeat Nova and prevent him from being a threat to Dream Land & all of Pop Star.
