Here's my favorite way to turn a collar point.
No more stabbing your delicate points with sharp objects! Stop one stitch before your point. Set a double strand of thick thread in front of your needle and stitch over it (not on it, or through it). Pull both ends of the strand to the inside, essentially wrapping around the corner stitch. Finish the seam. When you turn, the threads will be on the inside. Give them a tug to pull out your point. Then slide the thread out just as easy as you please.
