Video Series #7: Finding the Way to Zero: Veterans Justice Outreach

The Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) Program provides outreach services to Veterans involved in the criminal justice system either in courtroom setting or jails. The VJO Program Coordinator attends court hearings, works with Veteran's attorneys, district attorneys and judges on a release plan for the Veteran. A key goal for establishing a VJO program was to establish a way to avoid unnecessary criminalization and incarceration of Veterans with mental health and/or other related issues, and to ensure that eligible, justice-involved Veterans have timely access to VA health care services.

We are here to help Veterans. Together, we will find the way to zero.
