A sandstorm blankets the city in a sepia colour, most notable in the sky and atmosphere. On return to the city from the temple the storm has subsided and the dull haze is broken by the noonday sun. The city bustles with life again.
The city of Edfu known in antiquity as Behdet is an Egyptian city located on the west bank of the Nile River between Esna and Aswan. Edfu has a population of approximately 60,000.
Edfu is the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement, Tell Edfu is located 5 km north of Edfu city.
