Las Vegas police gave an update on the shooting that involved officers earlier this week on Twain Avenue.
Officers said a man was driving a stolen car and took off from police when they tried to pull him over.
Police say he was driving recklessly for an hour with two women in the car, and after he dropped them off at a gas station, they were detained and told officers the man had a shotgun in his lap.
Eventually, police said the man, Chase Rosa, stopped in the street in front of the Siegel Suites, near Twain Avenue and Paradise Road, and attempted to carjack a driver.
Rosa then pointed the shotgun at police, who then opened fire. Rosa died at Sunrise Hospital.
Authorities said he had a criminal history in Nevada and Utah.
