The nationwide strike called by trade unions employees of transport corporations had been accepted by drivers of various vehicles, including autos, cabs and buses, and participated in bandh and protest against the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act-2017, and this had a severe impact on public transport in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and People Facing Problems With Lack of Transport Facility in Telugu State. Trade unions like AITUC, INTUC, IFTU, TADS and JDAA extended their support to one day bandh from August 6th midnight to midnight of August 7.
