We all know that octopuses are intelligent creatures and one octopus, Paul the Octopus, can accurately predict the results of the 2010 World Cup. Usually, one octopus has 3 hearts and 9 brains to coordinate their movements. Two hearts will be responsible for pumping blood to the gills and the third larger heart will help circulate blood to the body. When octopuses are swimming, those two organ hearts will stop beating and make them uncomfortable. That is why they prefer crawling to swimming. Octopuses have 9 brains, there is one central brain in the head and eight mini-heads in each of its eight arms which can help them act independently. Octopuses have blue blood which are based on a copper rich protein hemocyanin. This kind of blood can help them be adapt to the cold and low oxygen water.
