Step by step instructions to replace a damaged laptop screen on an Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop computer.
A few parts were sped up, but all in all this took me 12 minutes to do with no special tools.
Tools used:
- Guitar pick (or any thin plastic thing - I advise against using metal object such as screwdrivers to do this as you will damage the plastic)
- Relatively small screwdriver
I recommend disconnecting the battery before any tinkering on the inside of computers. To disconnect the battery you have to remove the whole bottom plate of the laptop on this model. It's easy to do: undo all 17 screws and separate the bottom plate from the laptop using the same technique as in the video - Run the guitar pick in the crack (you will hear clicks like in the video) between the bottom plate all around the laptop and the just lift the bottom plate, find and disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard and attach the bottom plate back (no need for screws as you will have to remove it again to reattach battery in 10 or 15 minutes) - if unsure find a suitable dissasembly video.
