Malawi's Vice President Joyce Banda has risen to become the country's president this weekend after she was sworn in following the death of President Bingu wa Mutharika due to a cardiac arrest. Banda is the third-ever female African head of state and has come in promising big change for the country. Joining ABN's Hannah Viviers in studio to discuss the significance of the new President's leadership for the poverty stricken country is Yvonne Mhango, Sub-Saharan Africa Economist at Renaissance Capital.
