This is the 2nd video of the stepper motor. In this video the same hardware setup is used but the software is different on both ends. The arduino code was modified to support full speed control on top of the microstepping and directional control. The vb.net application was also beefed up with many more features including speed control, serial options ect....

In the video you may notice the box does not always spin as far as I said it would. This is because nothing but friction is holding the box onto the shaft. The motor vibrates a lot at slow speeds and this causes the box to slip on the shaft instead of holding on. When I put the piece of tape on it the rotation is 1 to 1 because it doesn't slip off.
