Written by Bruce Hawes and Joseph Jefferson. Arranged by Lenny Pakula and produced by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.
The trio had been in the business for 10 years by the time they signed with Philadelphia International Records in 1973, debuting with “Dirty Ol’ Man” / “Can’t You See What You’re Doing To Me”. A couple of big hits came in the following year with “When Will I See You Again” (US #2, UK #1) and “TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)” (US #1, UK #22).
The members at this time were Sheila Ferguson, Valerie Holiday and Fayette Pinkney. Sadly, Fayette passed in June, 2009.
Bruce Hawes and Joseph Jefferson were very active writes and arrangers for Philadelphia acts in the 70s – the Spinners’ “Mighty Love” was one of theirs.
