Arizona is a popular place to prospect, with dry washing and nugget detecting being the most popular. Yet there is also plenty of lode mining potential. There are even a few places for panning and sniping – more if you bring your own water. It’s a snowbird haven and folks from colder climates flock there by the tens of thousands during the winter. Many Arizona placers are nuggety, small and widely scattered over a large area. In this video I go over some of the best known placer gold districts in the sate and talk about the geology that puts the gold there.
