“I may not have ended up where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.” - Douglas Adams
With this being our 4th visit to Darwin, we have already seen and done a few of the big-ticket sightseeing activities. So, this time we decided to explore Darwin like a local and ended up discovering some amazing new places, but the best thing, they were all completely FREE.
These are our top freebie experiences to add to your list when you visit Darwin-
1. George Brown Botanic Gardens: We took a shady stroll to see the plants and sculptures on display.
2. Charles Darwin National Park: This park is home to significant wetlands, important woodlands, and is part of a network of WWII military sites … very interesting!
3. Beaches, Beaches, Beaches: No swimming (of course) but a bit of fishing, 4WDing and sunset viewing.
4. Splendid Springs: The Howard Springs Nature Park is a great recreational venue & Berry Springs (a BIG favourite of ours) is always busy and is one of the most beautiful parks to cool off and relax in.
Time to hit the road!
