Education Secretary Fred Matiang’i has termed as ignorant and irrelevant growing debate over reforms in the administration of national exams.
The CS says those opposed to the plan are misinformed and unaware of existing laws governing the sector. Among the most vocal opponents of the changes is the Secretary General of teacher’s union KNUT Wilson Sossion, who has threatened to mobilise teachers to disregard an extension of the second term by a week terming it disruptive.
Sossion has also criticised the abolishment of school prayer days and midterm holidays, during the third term.
