Did you know that during the development of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Starbeans Café cutscenes originally included cameos from other video game franchises? Found in the game's files were sprites and written dialogue for Wario, Star Fox, Samus from the Metroid series, Olimar from the Pikmin series, and even Link from The Legend of Zelda series. These scenes would play when you create a new drink instead of the E. Gadd sequences, but they were cut at some point during development for an unknown reason.
Here's some more info on the cut content of the game: [ Ссылка ]
This animation uses the found dialogue and sprites to imagine what this cameo would look like if it were included in the final game. This is NOT a rom hack, nor are the motion paths, music, sound effects, or Mario bros' reactions based on evidence from the game's files. This is just an animation, created in after effects, imagining what this cutscene would look like if it were running on the game's engine. The animation was originally created in the Gameboy Advance's native 240x160 resolution, using reference videos and screenshots to make the sprite placements as accurate as possible, then scaled up to 4K.
If you like this video, and want me to make animations for the other deleted scenes, leave a comment and let me know!
