The land of Arabia is mainly associated with Islam, and there's a reason for that. Islam sparked the tremendous expansion of the Arabic people in history. The Islamic Caliphate, which at its height spanned Spain and North Africa in the west to Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent in the east, was arguably the most powerful empire of its time because of this.
While Islam continues to be one of the world's most significant political and social forces, the Caliphate remained one of the world's most dominant political, military, scientific, and cultural centers for several centuries. But what existed before Islam? What did the Arab people believe in, how did they live, and how did they rule themselves? The most unbelievable factor in the political life of Arabs was that there was no systematic political organization in the Arabian peninsula. No part of the region, except Yemen, had any form of government at all as, besides the authority of their tribal chiefs, the Arabs never accepted any other power or control over them. These tribal chiefs were selected, and their authority was retained on moral values rather than political authority.
