Aloha!
This is a bike ride starting in Waikiki traveling to Downtown Honolulu via King Street, the Historic District to the city center and Chinatown - to Ala Moana Center District and the Ala Moana Beach Park to Magic Island via Ka'kaako, and to the Ala Moana Center.
Traveling to the Downtown Area via bike can be challenging and treacherous as the some of the streets can be narrow and lack dedicated bike routes. King Street is one of the few major thoroughfares in the Honolulu center city that has a separate designated Class I bicycle route on the north side of the street allowing bicyclists to travel west to east on the same side of the street. Riding on the sidewalk is illegal and many cyclists local and tourists - are frequently ticketed if police see you. Ride with extreme caution if you are visiting Honolulu and rent a bike since riding close to the curb and in the gutter may be necessary at times. It is however an enjoyable climate to be riding a bicycle as the winds are comfortable and cooling particularly with the humid weather.
