Breakdown (1968) – the Millennium was a studio band and we came alive within that environment. We all loved to go into the studio for any excuse. As contract songwriters, we penned lots of material and often rehearsed a few to demo up for our publishers. This is a song I wrote just for fun, and for the fun of playing something a little harder edged with Ron Edgar and Doug Rhodes on drums and base. Ron and Doug were seasoned musicians and had toured, along with our co-producing engineer, Keith Olsen, in the Music Machine with their hit record “Talk Talk”. I was fortunate to have these two veterans take me under their wing and school me on how to lose my folky stiffness and make music swing. We developed a close friendship and working relationship that lasted beyond the Millennium. Curt voices the maniacal laugh you hear before the song begins.
