🥣 Filling Ingredients:
3.5 oz | 100 g | 1/2 cup dried green lentils
10.5 oz | 300 ml | 1 1/4 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
1 onion
1 clove garlic
1/4 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)
20 g | 1 oz coriander
🥣 Base Ingredients:
2 lbs | 1 kg | 4 large potatoes
1 large onion
1 tbsp flour salt and black pepper for seasoning
🧑🍳Cooking Tips:
❗Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices to the recipe to achieve your favorite flavor.
❗You can replace the Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru) with crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
🥣Method: Place 3.5oz | 100g | 1/2 cup dried green lentils in a saucepan Add 10.5oz | 300ml | 1 1/4 cups water Simmer for 30 minutes. Fry 1 sliced onion for about 3 minutes until translucent. Crush 1 clove garlic Peel and grate 2lbs | 1kg | 4 large potatoes Place the potatoes in a mesh bag. Grate 1 large onion Drain off any excess liquid Add 1tbsp flour ℹ️I use brown rice flour. You can use any flour you like. Season with salt and black pepper. Mash the cooked green lentils and let them cool. Add the cooked onion and garlic and 1/4 tsp Korean red chili flakes. ℹ️ You can replace the Korean chili flakes (gochugaru) with crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper. Add 20g | 1oz coriander and mix well. To make the patties, form the grated potato into balls and then flatten it into a circle. Add about 1-2 tablespoons of the lentil filling. Gently “seal” and flatten the patties slightly. Cook on medium heat, covered, for about 5-7 minutes. Flip the patties over, add a little water (about 4 tablespoons) and cook, covered, for another 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Serve these delicious veggie burgers with dairy-free yogurt or salsa and enjoy! ℹ️ These burgers can be eaten hot or cold. I like both versions.
