Probably one of the saddest films I've ever seen. Gay Ulliel comes home to his family after an absence of 12 years. Léa Seydoux barely knows him due to her young age and desperately wants to connect with this unknown brother. He actually is coming home to tell them he is dying of a terminal illness. His aggressive brother Cassell can't stand him and pushes him away. The saddest element (SPOILER) is that Ulliel never gets to tell his family that he is dying and just leaves. I've never seen a family tragedy of this sort or a French (or is it French Canadian) movie with this kind of cast attached; has some of my favorite actors and directed by the young multi-talented Canadian Xavier Dolan.
