Nigeria experienced another collapse of its national grid on Monday, resulting in a significant drop in power generation from 4,032.8 megawatts to 43.5 MW.
The collapse occurred around 1 p.m. local time and led to a rapid decline in electricity supply. Figures from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) indicated a gradual recovery, with power generation reaching 544.9 MW by 5 p.m.
TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah confirmed the grid collapse but assured the public that TCN engineers had successfully restored the system. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges in Nigeria's power infrastructure.
