Most of the world's rainforests are located around in South America, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South East Asia.
World leaders have promised to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030, and given £14billion to protect and restore tropical rainforests.
Brazil also announced a more ambitious plan to end deforestation - which has been on the rise under President Jair Bolsonaro - within eight years.
Our Chief Correspondent Stuart Ramsay has been to Trairão in the Brazilian Amazon to see how big that task will be.
