Before cleaning, turn off, unplug, and remove any accessories from the humidifier.
Empty the water tank, then remove the mist nozzle and empty reservoir.
Follow the separate steps for descaling and disinfecting. Both steps are important and should be performed weekly.
To descale the unit, pour one cup of undiluted distilled white vinegar into the water tank.
Place the mist nozzle inside the tank and secure the tank cap.
Gently swish the solution in the tank to make sure the vinegar wets the entire inside.
Place the tank on its base so the vinegar can drain into the water reservoir and loosen mineral buildup.
Soak for twenty minutes.
After soaking, remove the nozzle from the tank.
Pour the solution out from the tank and reservoir, then wipe the nebulizer, float and reservoir with a soft cloth.
Rinse the tank, reservoir and nozzle with water then empty and repeat until the smell of vinegar is gone.
When disinfecting, be sure to wear gloves when handling bleach.
Mix a gallon of water, with a teaspoon of bleach.
Pour bleach solution into the water tank, add mist nozzle and replace the cap.
Gently swish the solution in the tank in circles to make sure it wets the entire inside.
