This is a "found film" from eBay. The original film consisted of 15 25' reels of B&W film. The reels were copper in color and marked "Univex". The original film quality was very poor with damaged sprocket holes, stretched film, and perforations. It's a testament to the Retroscan Universal Telecine Unit that I was able to digitize it at all. Much of the film is jittery but it looks like that may have been an issue with the original movie camera.
Reels include "Parade 1938", "Zoo", "Larimore", "Ben & Elinor", "Ben Anderson Film", "Bruner", "Duluth", and "Phillip's Farm". Several are not identified.
I'm guessing the film was from the mid 1930's. The car in the opening scenes may be a 1935-36 Chevrolet. There's an airplane hangar that appears to be in Fargo, North Dakota. Some of the other footage is Duluth, MN.
Thanks to Marcia Williams for sharing these films. Hopefully, other friends and family members may recognize the subjects and help me to further identify and document the footage.
Thanks for watching!
Note: This film is a "placeholder". It will be replaced as soon as I finalize the edits.
