The first test of a full-scale thermonuclear device in history. Explosion and shockwave during the test codenamed "Ivy Mike" on the Enewetak Atoll in the Marshall Islands, during Operation Ivy. Shock waves cause sea water to travel towards the coast. In the aftermath of the explosion sky turns red . Brief view of observors aboard a ship watching the nuclear blast in the distance. As the explosion recedes the sky turns dark. Smoke rises from the site of the explosion. A huge mushroom cloud of smoke is formed. Ivy Mike was the first successful Hydrogen bomb test. Location: Enewetak Atoll Marshall Islands. Date: November 1, 1952.
