(5 Feb 2019) More than 2,000 people gathered on Tuesday for a feast celebrating the first day of the Year of the Pig.
"Ng's Village", located in rural Hong Kong, has been holding large-scale feasts serving "Poon Choi for over 60 years, which is held annually on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
Poon Choi is a traditional Chinese dish served in a large basin or pot, usually containing a variety of delicacies like seafood, chicken and pork that are arranged and presented in layers, and traditionally eaten during large scale celebrations like weddings or lunar new year.
Village head Chui Fat-kin said the village has held the Poon Choi festival for sixty years adding "we hope to keep it going".
As Hong Kong enters the Year of the Pig, many families will celebrate with a feast of their own, with Poon Choi on the table.
