हरियाणा के चुनाव में मुख्य पार्टियां भाजपा, कांग्रेस, आम आदमी पार्टी (आप), इंडियन नेशनल लोकदल (इनेलो)-बहुजन समाज पार्टी (बसपा) और जननायक जनता पार्टी (जजपा)-आजाद समाज पार्टी (आसपा) हैं. ज्यादातर सीटों पर भाजपा और कांग्रेस के बीच सीधा मुकाबला होने की संभावना है. पंकज अग्रवाल ने कहा कि राज्य के 22 जिलों के 90 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में 93 मतगणना केंद्र बनाए गए हैं. बयान में यह भी कहा गया है कि बादशाहपुर, गुरुग्राम और पटौदी विधानसभा सीटों के लिए दो-दो मतगणना केंद्र बनाए गए हैं, जबकि शेष 87 निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों के लिए एक-एक मतगणना केंद्र स्थापित किया गया है.
जम्मू-कश्मीर की बात करें तो 90 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए मतगणना मंगलवार यानी कल सुबह शुरू होगी. इस चुनाव के नतीजों से 2019 में अनुच्छेद 370 को निरस्त किये जाने के बाद केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में पहली निर्वाचित सरकार के गठन का मार्ग प्रशस्त होगा. इस विधानसभा चुनाव में मुकाबले में मुख्य रूप से कांग्रेस-नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस (एनसी) गठबंधन, पीपुल्स डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी (पीडीपी) और भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) हैं. यह चुनाव पूर्ववर्ती राज्य को जम्मू-कश्मीर और लद्दाख के केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में विभाजित किए जाने के पांच साल बाद हो रहा है.
