Spectrum is critical to wireless innovation due to the "virtuous cycle," since it drives the industry to invest in networks to handle more capacity and faster speeds, device manufacturers develop new capabilities for devices to take advantage of the new networks and content developers create new apps and content for those devices. But spectrum is the fuel that powers this cycle, says Roger Entner, analyst and founder of Recon Analytics, at the Progressive Policy Institute's May 1, 2012 event.
