Today marked 43 years since the June 16 1976 Uprising that began in Soweto, which then spread countrywide and profoundly changed the socio-political landscape in South Africa. Thousands of learners took to streets to demonstrate and stand up against oppression. Today the struggle continues ...we are still haunted by live scenes of youth demonstrations for financial emancipation and inclusion, access to education and opportunity. In the plight of twitter pleas', missing graduation ceremonies due to student debt and road sign boards for employment opportunities. Was this all in vain ? Where do the youth stand in the provocation of change?
