It is based on the book published in 2013, which pairs historical photographs of buildings and businesses in early Placerville with modern photos taken of the same location, c. 2012.
The El Dorado County Historical Museum seeks to preserve and interpret the county’s rich history through exhibits and archives, and has a large collection of historical photographs depicting early Placerville and other communities around the county.
