The polar wave that has affected in recent days much of the United States and Spain for some also arrived in North Africa, where the Sahara desert appeared covered in snow.
The phenomenon was recorded in the town of Aïn Séfra, known as 'the desert gate', in northwestern Algeria. In this district, located at 1,080 meters above sea level, the snow reached 40 centimeters thick, this is the third time that it has happened in 40 years.
