Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday will be blessed by it from one Friday to the next (Hadith Nasai, Bayhaqi, hakim).
The Prophet (saw) declared, "Whoever commits to memory the first ten Ayat of the Surat Al-Kahf, will be protected from (the trial of) Ad-Dajjal (Antichrist)." (Sahih muslim)
Another narration claims that whomever memorises the final ten verses of Surat Al-Kahf will be shielded from Ad-Dajjal's trial.
This Surah contains 4 main themes.
1. People of the Cave/Ashabu Al-Kahf: The Trial of Faith (Verses 9–26)
2. Trial of Wealth: The Rich and the Poor (Verses 32–44)
3. Moses and Al-Khidr are put to the test of knowledge (Verses 60–82).
4. Dhul-Qar-nayn with Yajuj Majuj, "Trial of Power," verses 83–98
The manifestation of Dajjal's superhuman abilities would cause many individuals to lose their faith in Allah, the Almighty. This makes the trial an important one for that reason.
Each Prophet forewarned his followers to avoid him. Furthermore, our Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) forbade us from engaging in him, commanded us to protect ourselves from it, and sternly recommended us to seek refuge in Allah in order to protect ourselves from it.
This Hadith explains how to defend ourselves against Ad-Dajjal. For this, it is quite helpful to recite the first or last 10 verses of Surat Al-Kahf.
