The Ball Screen can be used to create an advantage for the offense, but that can come with a tradeoff. As the Arkansas Razorbacks demonstrate here, trapping the ball screen can be an effective way to disrupt opponents and create turnovers.
There are two elements to an effective ball screen trap.
First, a tight aggressive trap to disrupt the vision of the ball handler. Pursue the ball handler, take away space, and seek deflections. The trap isolates the ball from its teammates.
Second, a help side triangle. The three players not involved in the trap create a triangle and anticipate the first pass out of the trap.
