Super Keiki students of Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studios perform "Movement in Am" composed by Roy Sakuma. Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studios is Hawaii's foremost ukulele school. Since 1974, the Roy Sakuma Method of Ukulele Instruction has brought the joy of music to thousands of students on Oahu with their staff of instructors who are all former students. As a young protégé of ukulele master Herb "Ohta-San" Ohta, Roy quickly proved himself a stellar student. Instead of following in Ohta-San's footsteps as a performing artist, Roy devoted himself wholeheartedly to teaching and showing the world that the ukulele was an instrument of virtuosity. Roy Sakuma started the first and original ukulele festival in 1971and today there are ukulele festivals worldwide. In 2004, Roy and Kathy Sakuma established Ukulele Festival Hawaii, a charitable nonprofit organization to continue their life's work of perpetuating the ukulele and bringing laughter, love and hope to children and adults of Hawaii and the world through the music of the ukulele.
