Among the six primary schools of Indian philosophy, Samkhya is often considered to be the closest to modern Science. Samkhya also forms the basis of Yoga and Tantra. The word Samkhya literally means enumeration, which is directly linked to the concept of measurement in Science. In this conversation with Swami Chidananda, we will explore this connection between Ancient Samkhya and Modern Science in more detail, and try to understand if any of these ancient principles can help us in making scientific progress.
Swami Chidananda is a Vedanta scholar, teacher of spirituality, representative of ancient wisdom, motivational speaker and writer with thirty years of Upanishads’ study and research behind him. He has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, has served the Chinmaya Mission for 18 years and the Education Centre of Krishnamurti Foundation in Varanasi for 10 years. As an independent resource person, he currently speaks all over the world on the values and virtues of Upanishads, addressing anyone eager to resolve inner conflicts of human life. A very down to earth person with a great sense of humour, he divides his time between Solan in Himachal Pradesh, and his speaking engagements. He is the driving force of the content and programs of AUPA and FOWAI Forum:
