(30 May 2015) Thousands of dancers in colourful costumes performed in the streets of the Bolivian capital on Saturday celebrating "The Feast of the Lord of Great Power".
The festivity takes place in La Paz every year in a show of devotion and to thank the gods for their blessings.
More than 20-thousand dancers and musicians from 62 groups marched through the city for 15 hours.
The festival is an opportunity for the growing middle class from the Aymara indigenous group to show off their economic power through the elaborate costumes and masks created for the parade.
A dancer's costume, along with jewellery worn, is valued at as much as 20-thousand US dollars.
Participants who cannot afford buying a new costume rent their costumes and accessories.
More than 50 (m) million US dollars was spent in preparations leading up to the festival, according to La Paz's Secretary of Culture.
