The Ukrainian border guards showed the use of the Czech Vampire MLRS on the frontline.
Western-supplied MLRS systems help the Ukrainian Army to hit Russian invaders’ positions.
In 2022, the Czech Republic donated to Ukraine an undisclosed number of these artillery systems. The RM-70 (the NATO designation is M1972) is a heavier variant of the Soviet Grad multiple rocket launcher. The Vampire is based on the Tatra 813 armoured chassis. This Czech MLRS has a launcher for 40 122-mm missiles.
The vehicle provides enough space to carry 40 additional rockets for fast, automatic reloading. Fire control is carried out from the cockpit or with the help of a portable device from the nearest shelter. These artillery systems help the Ukrainian Army to push back Russian invading troops on the occupied territories.
