This Israeli-American "Lone Soldier," Daniel Bard, made aliya on his own and one day, while on reserve guard duty at a beautiful nature reserve in Gush Etzion, walked into our painting class with Avital Sharansky to check up on us, and I ended up filming him reading one of his poems.
