In this 3ie Delhi seminar, Lant Pritchett reflected on what these randomised evaluations have got wrong and right in the last few decades. He highlighted experiences that show that to improve the capability of organisations to implement effective practices, you need long gestation times with flexibility to crawl the design space, attention to the granularity of policy design, strong partnership rather than independence from evaluators, and embeddedness into the specifics of politics and capability.
