Currently, up to 828 million people worldwide suffer from chronic hunger. The number of people who do not have access to safe food has increased by 350 million since 2019, reaching 2.3 billion people. Germany acknowledges its global responsibility towards achieving the goals of the Agenda 2030 and intends to contribute towards ending hunger and poverty worldwide. To achieve sustainability goals, we need to change global structures and actively participate in transforming agricultural and food systems. Together with partners of the Alliance for Global Food Security, we aim to prevent the exacerbation of this nutrition crisis. At the same time, we aim to continue advancing the transformation of agricultural and food systems together with our partners in German development cooperation - for fair incomes, healthy nutrition, and an intact environment.
